What to Know Before You Book a Workshop
Bangkok Darkroom is one of the few fully equipped analog darkrooms in Bangkok, built for hands-on learning with real enlargers, chemistry, and film. Every workshop is small and taught by our team of experienced instructors, so you leave with negatives or prints you made yourself.
No experience needed. Choose the workshop that suits you: Cyanotype Printing, B&W and Color Film Developing, B&W Hand Printing, or Color Hand Printing.
Cyanotype Printing — No experience needed. Email us 3+ photos (at least 3000×4000px, color or B&W) to info@bangkokdarkroom.com in advance, we'll turn one into a digital negative for you. Bring leaves or flowers if you have them, for photograms.
B&W Hand Printing — Your film must already be processed. Bring 5+ images on B&W negative film, 35mm to 4×5 format. Slide (positive) film isn't supported. Let us know ahead if you're bringing anything larger than 35mm.
Color Hand Printing — Your film must already be processed (C-41 or ECN-2). Bring 5+ images on color negative film, 35mm to 4×5 format. E-6 slide film isn't supported.
B&W and Color Film Developing — Bring unprocessed film: up to 2 rolls of B&W and/or 2 rolls of color negative film (C-41 only, we can't process ECN-2 or E-6). Arrive a few minutes early, as we start right on time.
Bangkok Darkroom is located just 5 meters from BTS Phrom Phong Exit 4, making it easy to reach by public transport. The entrance can be easy to miss, so look for Kush Katsu Ebisu Shoten on the ground floor.

- Take the glass elevator to the 4th floor to find Bangkok Darkroom.

Do I need experience to join a workshop at Bangkok Darkroom?
No. Cyanotype Printing and B&W and Color Film Developing are open to complete beginners. B&W Hand Printing and Color Hand Printing require your film to already be processed, but no darkroom experience is needed for either.
What workshops does Bangkok Darkroom offer?
Four workshops: Cyanotype Printing, B&W and Color Film Developing, B&W Hand Printing, and Color Hand Printing. All are taught in a working analog darkroom near Phrom Phong BTS station.
Does my film need to be processed before the workshop?
For B&W Hand Printing and Color Hand Printing, yes — your film must be developed before you arrive. If you're not taking our Film Developing workshop, we recommend What The Film in Ekamai for processing your B&W or color negative film beforehand. For B&W and Color Film Developing, your film should be unprocessed, since developing it is the workshop itself.
What film formats and types are supported?
Any format from 35mm to 4×5 inch large * format is accepted for hand printing. Slide (positive) film is not supported for B&W or Color Hand Printing. For Color Film Developing, only C-41 negative film is supported — ECN-2 (cinema film) and E-6 (slide film) cannot be processed.
Do you offer group or private bookings?
Yes, discounts are available for large groups, and private bookings can be arranged on request.
